- Probe head does not rotate; software shows “PH10 rotation timeout.”
- Probe head unlocks during rotation but fails to lock properly, or locking produces abnormal noise.
- Probe head rotation angle does not match the requested angle.
- Probe head unlocks or makes abnormal noise when rotating to a certain fixed angle.
Cause Analysis:
- Loose communication cable; incorrect communication port settings; improperly installed communication port drivers or damaged ports; incorrect baud rate settings or wrong DIP switch settings on the PH10 probe control box can cause the probe head not to rotate.
Troubleshooting:
- Faulty probe cable such as cold solder joints or poor contact; faulty PH10 probe control box; faulty PH10 probe head can all cause this issue.
- Same causes as item 1.
- In most cases, the problem is caused by the probe head itself.
Recommended Solutions:
- Power off and securely reconnect communication cables; ensure serial port card drivers are correctly installed; check serial port settings to avoid conflicts; setting baud rate to 9600 usually resolves the issue. For factory equipment, the DIP switches on the P10 probe control box are preset—if servicing or replacing, verify DIP switches 1 and 3 are set to UP.
- Check the soldering quality of PH10 probe extension cables (PL6, PL12, PL93); use known good probe cables, control boxes, and probe heads to isolate the fault through substitution testing.
- Same as solution 2.
- Test with a known good probe head to confirm the cause of the fault.
