NET·DMIS is AEH's own coordinate measurement software platform, now in its fourth generation as of 2026 and certified by Germany's PTB — independent verification that its metrology algorithms meet the international benchmark.

Geometry. Measurement and construction of points, lines, circles, planes, cylinders, cones and spheres, with construction by fitting, symmetry, projection and other methods.

CAD. Imports SAT, IGES, STEP and STL. Features can be picked directly off the model to generate a program, enabling offline programming and virtual measurement, including batch feature extraction from the model.

Curves and surfaces. Continuous scanning of lines, circles, curves and surfaces, with a choice of evaluation methods.

Reporting. PDF, HTML, MHT, RTF, Excel, CSV, text, image and Word output, with results sent over the network to a server for central management.

Multi-sensor. Touch-trigger, scanning, vision, point laser and line laser, in any combination.

Interoperability. Two-way conversion with PC-DMIS and CALYPSO, so existing programs can be brought across.

EMRP integration. Connects to MES and ERP systems for aggregated quality data, early warning and closed-loop management.

Yes, provided the machine uses standard DMIS or a supported controller — though every model needs adaptation testing before it runs in production.

The technical basis. NET·DMIS drives DCC, PANTEC, UCC, DCC_Lite and UWC4000i controllers, among others. These are industry-standard CMM controllers — the Renishaw UCC series, for instance — fitted across many manufacturers' machines. Programs follow the DMIS (Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard) protocol, so at the language level they are portable.

What adaptation involves. Driving a third-party machine fully means matching its error parameters, sensor configuration and limit protection. Our engineers carry out that work, which normally requires the machine's technical specification and commissioning on site.

If you are migrating. Customers coming from PC-DMIS and similar packages can convert existing programs and keep using them, rather than reprogramming from scratch.

The differences come down to history, ecosystem and price. NET·DMIS is stronger on adaptability, custom development and cost; the imported packages are stronger on global standardisation and certain specialist modules.

History and certification. PC-DMIS and CALYPSO have decades of global use behind them and deep roots in automotive and aerospace. NET·DMIS has developed through four generations from AC-DMIS and carries German PTB certification, which independently confirms its measurement accuracy and algorithms.

Ecosystem. The imported packages are near-universal, which makes programs portable between multinational sites. NET·DMIS converts both ways with them, so migrating off imported equipment is straightforward, and it also runs in environments where data security requirements rule other options out.

Features and customisation. The imported packages have accumulated more in specialist areas such as complex surface analysis and blade measurement. NET·DMIS covers the core ground — geometry, CAD import, curves and surfaces, multi-sensor fusion — and adds industry-specific modules and custom development where you need something particular.

Cost and support. Imported licences are expensive and upgrades and maintenance are charged separately. NET·DMIS is priced more competitively, our engineers respond faster, and the platform supports custom development and MES integration.

The principal one is certification by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany's national metrology institute and one of the most authoritative bodies in the field.

What PTB certification means. It confirms that the core algorithms in NET·DMIS — length measurement and geometric evaluation — conform to international standards, and that the results are accurate and reliable by an independent assessment rather than our own. For measurement software, it is the credential that opens the door to aerospace and defence work.

Operating environments. NET·DMIS runs on a range of operating systems including domestic platforms, which matters where information security requirements apply.

Sector approvals. AEH holds defence sector certification and aerospace customer qualifications, and NET·DMIS has been validated in service as the core software in those applications.

Yes. We wrote both packages, and compatibility was designed in from the start rather than bolted on afterwards.

Programs. NET·DMIS includes an import tool that reads AC-DMIS program files and converts the syntax and parameter settings automatically. Routine programs need no rewriting.

Data. Historical measurement results and report files import in bulk into the NET·DMIS data management system, so your quality record stays continuous and traceable.

Configuration. Machine parameters and probe definition files transfer with everything else, which removes most of the setup work.

For complex programs or bespoke functions, our engineers run the compatibility testing and make whatever adjustments are needed.

All three. This is what makes NET·DMIS a platform rather than just an application.

Custom development. Open programming interfaces and a scripting language let you shape measurement routines, report templates and analysis logic around your own inspection process.

Automation. The software communicates and coordinates with robots and automatic loading systems, so measurement can run unattended as part of a cell.

MES integration. Results are published over the network to a server in real time, and the EMRP quality management platform connects that to MES and ERP — closing the loop from inspection through quality analysis to process adjustment.

The practical effect is that measurement stops being an isolated station and becomes the data hub of the line.

Modules are built for the sectors where general-purpose measurement isn't enough — aerospace, automotive, energy storage, tooling and medical.

Blade measurement. For aero engine and turbine blades: section profile, chord length and twist angle evaluation, with four-axis measurement when combined with a white-light probe and rotary table.

Gear measurement. Profile, lead and pitch evaluation to gear-specific parameters.

Tooling and fixtures. Dynamic point measurement, vector point measurement from imported DMO nominals, direct CAD import and offline programming.

Surface analysis. Surface profile and form error analysis.

Battery modules. Module dimensions, terminal height, housing form and position tolerances.

Multi-sensor fusion. Combined measurement and unified evaluation across touch, vision and point or line laser — the modules that matter for medical implants and electronic components with mixed features.

The licence is tied to the machine and comes with it — including first installation, commissioning and operator training. Annual upgrades and advanced training are quoted separately.

Licensing. The software licence is bound to the machine serial number and is included when you buy an AEH machine, so there is no separate software purchase. Licences cannot be transferred to other equipment.

Upgrades and maintenance. Covered by an annual contract priced according to version and requirements. Staying on a PTB-certified release is what keeps your metrology compliance valid over time, which is the main reason to maintain it.

Training. Operator training is included with the machine and runs at our 600 m² training and demonstration centre in Xi'an, or on your site if that suits better. Advanced training on specialist modules or custom development is priced by content and duration. International customers are trained by their local authorised partner or at the Xi'an facility.
