Xi'an, Shaanxi, 27 October 2025 — the five-day 2025 Shaanxi Defence Industry Vocational Skills Competition has concluded at Xi'an Aerospace Technical School. Hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Defence Industry Trade Union and organised by Xi'an Aerospace Technical School under CASC's Sixth Academy, the competition brought together 56 teams and 381 competitors drawn from six sectors of the province's defence system — aviation, aerospace, ordnance, shipbuilding, nuclear industry and military electronics — competing across CNC turning, CNC milling, bench fitting and quality inspection. As official measurement equipment partner, AEH provided the instruments and technical service that kept judging fair, consistent and efficient.
Measurement that judges advanced manufacturing
In the defence industry, quality and accuracy are decisive, and small deviations carry real consequences. The CNC machining and inspection disciplines demanded very tight tolerances, so the authority and accuracy of the measurement stage directly determined the competition's credibility. AEH supplied several high-accuracy coordinate measuring machines and CMM simulation software, along with an experienced technical team on site throughout.
Across the competition, AEH equipment handled inspection and scoring for the CNC turning and milling disciplines. Its repeatability, stability and throughput kept judging rigorous and precise, and drew consistent praise from the organising committee, the judging panel and competitors alike. In the quality inspection practical in particular, competitors used AEH equipment for fast, accurate data capture and analysis, a direct demonstration of what modern digital inspection contributes to both quality and efficiency.
From following to leading
Precision measurement is the eye and the yardstick of industrial production. Competitions like this one show what happens when industry, academia and end users work on the same problem — better technique, and better-trained people.
